For me, Iceland has the most dramatic landscapes (and seascapes) in the world: lava, volcanoes, geysers, waterfalls, mountains and mesas, lakes and oceans. Add in the clouds, the snow, the fog (lots of fog), the rainbows when the sun breaks through, and everyday scenes that might not seem to be that much at first glance become extraordinary.

I’ve been to places where weather mattered to the images, but never anyplace where it mattered this much. It’s not hard to understand how this country became the legendary domain of elves, witches, wizards and trolls.
